Rodney Sewell is a film editor and filmmaker with 30 years' experience in film & television production.


Trained in Australia and based in Munich, he has worked on international documentaries as well as German-language productions and from feature films through to daily soaps. He is a capable storyteller and an experienced editor.


Bilingual in English and German, he is a member of the German Society of Film Editors (BFS).


Currently working on the new 3Sat political format Weilers Welt for Janus Entertainment, he co-developed Servus TV's portrait format Wir sind Österreich for megaherz film und fernsehen, directing two episodes and editing more than a dozen programmes.


He directed and edited the Audi Self-Perception training film for Topalsson GmbH and bb-media Munich and has edited several BMW and BMW M Series films.


Rodney has produced and directed cultural and ecological documentaries seen on Arte, ZDF, BR, NHK Japan, ABC Australia and has directed numerous TV magazine items and a TV magazine series for BR and has edited, directed and written a series of music tips for Austria's Servus TV.


He has researched films on Derek Jarman, Lorin Maazel, Claudio Abbado, Waltraud Meier and Gore Vidal. He co-wrote the narration for the award-winning international documentary Terrible Lizards of Oz.


He lectures in post-production supervision at the Bavarian Academy of Televison and has taken part on panels in high-definition television and docutainment with Discovery Campus.


Since its premiere in Munich in Novmber 2006, Rodney's short film "41 Sekunden" has been invited to 56 festivals in 21 countries and been licensed for distribution in the USA, Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It's also been banned in Russia and voted best short film in MTV Logo's Season 5.


He owns and operates a boutique postproduction facility a stein's throw from Munich's Oktoberfest site.
